How To Solve Today’s Wordle
Solving today’s Wordle might seem tricky, but with the right strategy, you can crack the code! Start by choosing a word with a mix of common vowels and consonants, such as “raise” or “stare,” to uncover key letters early on. Pay attention to the color clues: green means the letter is correct and in the right spot, yellow indicates the letter is in the word but in the wrong position, and gray means it’s not in the word at all. As you narrow down your guesses, eliminate possibilities based on the clues you’ve gathered and refine your word choices to fit the pattern. Don’t rush — with logic and patience, you’ll solve today’s Wordle puzzle!
Wordle Analysis
Each day, I rely on Wordle Bot to analyze my performance and give feedback on my guessing strategy. You can also use Wordle Bot to review your own games right here.
For today’s puzzle, I went with “BARON” as my first guess — not my most inspired choice, but it had been a while since I used that word. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great start, leaving me with 288 possible solutions. My second guess, “POLES,” narrowed it down to just 10 options. Then, I tried “CLOUT,” which was incredibly close to the solution. Finally, with only one possibility left, “CLOUD” filled in all the blanks, turning the grid green. Success!
Competitive Wordle Score
It wasn’t my best day for competitive Wordle. I scored 0 points for guessing in four tries and another 0 for matching the Bot’s performance. A complete washout!
How To Play Competitive Wordle
Here’s how competitive Wordle scoring works:
- Guessing in 1 earns 3 points
- Guessing in 2 earns 2 points
- Guessing in 3 earns 1 point
- Guessing in 4 earns 0 points
- Guessing in 5 loses you 1 point
- Guessing in 6 loses you 2 points
- Missing the Wordle entirely costs you 3 points
If you beat your opponent, you gain 1 extra point. A tie earns 0, and a loss deducts 1 point. You can keep a running tally or play for a fresh score each day. And don’t forget, Fridays are 2XP days, where your points (positive or negative) are doubled!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
Today’s Wordle answer, “cloud,” originates from the Old English word clūd, which initially referred to “hill” or “mass of rock.” This term later evolved as people began comparing solid, hill-like formations to clouds in the sky. By the 13th century, the word “cloud” became linked specifically to the visible vaporous formations in the atmosphere, while the earlier meaning of “hill” faded away.
